Kennadi Smith, a rising high school freshman, is a member of Servant Leaders Institute's inaugural youth cohort and mentorship initiative. Take a moment to learn more about Kennadi as a person and her experience in the cohort.

"Cheering, listening to music, and hanging with friends bring me great happiness. Furthermore, I had a great school year participating in band and all-star cheer.

Mental health, emotional wellness, and restorative justice were some of the themed-sessions that I enjoyed the most during my time in the cohort. Each session was important to me because they impact my peers and myself. I definitely plan to continues using the strategies I learned.

Servant leadership means being a leader that brings people together. Unity is important when trying to achieve your goals. People who care about others and do not mind serving others, often make great leaders.

I encourage myself daily through the following affirmation: 'Be yourself and don't worry about what other people say about you because they don't live in your shoes'."

Kennadi is the proud daughter of Ms. Quatrice Hyde-Lee, Mr. Melvin Smith, and Mr. Alphonso Lee.
