Zoie Chambers, a high school senior, is a member of Servant Leaders Institute's inaugural youth cohort and mentorship initiative. Take a moment to learn more about Zoie as a person and her experience in the cohort.
"I enjoy dancing, brain stimulation games, and hanging with friends. I participate in volleyball, chess club, FCA, Delta Sigma Theta Academy and Gems.
Within the cohort, we have explored school policies, dress codes, and systemic racism. These topics are important to me. I am glad to be a cohort member, because the experience allowed me to express my feelings, learn about policy, and implement change. We explored many issues and problems that African American teenagers face.
If you are for what is right, you can be a servant leader. What makes a person a servant leader is being able to speak out on problems and helping out in a positive way.
'Do your best and be your best because, if you half way do it, it's not your best' (Advice my mom gives me everyday)"
Zoie is the proud daughter of Ms. Erica Chambers.
